After our bed frame is assembled, the whole is flat, not concave, and the mattress will be 1cm wider than the bed frame.

This is intentional and part of our design, for the mattress to be slightly wider than the frame and the mattress is soft, in order to protect kids from bumping their bodies and heads into the edge of the bed and protects adults from hitting their legs on the edge of the bed frame. It can also take up less interior space.
